Christmas with The Monkees from Monkees Monthly (December 1967)

I was one of the lucky girls chosen to answer fan mail for the Monkees at Screen Gems Studios, Hollywood, California; during Christmas vacation last year.

Before getting into the studio, on my first day the guard had to check with Frew Smallwood, who is head of Monkee Fan Mail. Each day afterwards I would write my name down on a chart and the guard would check my name and give me a studio pass.

Nick Fury [Strange Tales #163]

A fast-moving story that's complete nonsense but fun.

At the heart of this issue is a dragon statue made by AIM. Fury steals it. It (inexplicably) speaks the names of four AIM scientists. The Yellow Claw steals it. But no! He stole a duplicate that Fury made. Huh?! Turns out the Yellow Claw doesn't even need it. He easily finds and kills the scientists. But no! The last one is really Fury! Huh?!

It jumps from scene to scene getting more absurd with each one.

But it's a fun read.
