Hi! I’m sorry for the late reply, and also for publishing this - but I figured it would be an easy way to update/explain my though process to all my followers (also hi how are you)

I’m staying for now, but there’s still a chance I might decide to leave tumblr in the next week or so. I’ve been really unhappy with the way I’ve been using (or wanting to use) social media sites to gain validation, and if I don’t think it’s something I can work through, I’ll remove myself from the situation. 

I’m trying hard, though, because I like being able to keep up with people, and removing myself from twitter has made me super sad, so...we’ll see.

I feel like I've been watching a different campaign than my parents???? My dad just described Mulcair's niqab stance as selling out the party, and he said that the liberals are more left than the NDP now. ... what???????? How does defending a woman's right to wear niqab mean ANY of that?

Thanks. I’ll probably work with this, and it fits in with a lot of my relatively recent work. I’m trying to accept that if what I’m writing is genuine it will turn out bitter like this sometimes, even though I really try to focus on experiences of wonder most of the time. My last book of poetry was pretty much all about wonder, and was written in a sort of breathless prose; the book I’m working on now, by contrast, is shaping up to have a pretty bitter tone overall, and is largely written in a very prosaic style of verse. I really need to start showing the manuscript I’ve got to people, even if I’m planning on adding more work to it before I consider it finished.
