When they asked at my job who wanted off for July 4th I immediately thought “nah, I can’t afford to take another day off”, so I didn’t even ask. I’m so used to jobs treat their workers like crap, the thought of it being a paid holiday never even crossed my mind.

I found out today that my job offers paid holidays, so you can either take the day off and get regular pay, or work the holiday and get the straight-time AND the holiday pay - so basically double time for that day. EEEEEE!!!!
