PSA FOR ALL PEOPLE

So you know around election time (be it local or larger)  when there are people who come to your door  or call you campaigning for a certain candidate?

PLEASE just be kind to them please! 

These people have probably been walking for hours in the 100 degree weather and are most likely unpaid interns just trying to break into the world of politics

. They have been sent out to do the campaign grit work and legitimately just want to gather data and listen to your opinions. THEY ARE NOT AT YOUR DOOR TO FORCE YOU TO CHANGE YOUR OPINIONS I PROMISE THEY JUST WANT DATA. 

Even if you think their candidate is satin reincarnate please jut express your opinions to them instead of screaming or slamming the door in their face. There are infinitely many ways to kindly tell someone you disagree with them. Pick one. 

And i know the amount of canvassers showing up at your door may get annoying, but really is it that difficult to be a kind person for 30 seconds?

unless the person at your door is being outwardly rude or had harmed your family member just be a decent person.

Why is it that people find it so hard to be decent. It's not like you have to go out of your way. It's honestly just a matter of making a conscious decision to be honest and to not have hidden agendas. What I find more frustrating is that people think that decency and maturity comes with age, if you want to say you're a better person because you're older with more life experience then act it. Being condescending isn't an attractive characteristic.

I know you've been going through shit recently. I know you feel insecure, hurt, broken and just depressed. But you're honestly so beautiful and have such a vibrant personality, I'm so happy that you're still here! I know that there's been times where you've just given up, trust me, I think we've all felt the same. But I'm so proud of you for powering through! Just focus on the good points, the people who love you and treat you well. Focus on your education and the future, not the past. Chin up!x
