perhaps it’s because the contemplative look on his face has caused the corners of his lips to tug, and not in the direction they both far preferred – or perhaps it’s just sora being the way he is, so full of warmth and light and so much love to give.
either way, it comes as a surprise - his head’s tilted down in contemplation, eyes to the floor, which sora takes advantage of – cups his cheeks with his hands, warm and kind and soft, but tugging slightly so as to make him lean down further.
then warmth blooms along the plain of his forehead, a smiling kiss imprinted atop the silver strands of his fringe —- and yeah, that definitely helps with the darker thoughts, tucking them back into their little box in the corner of his mind.
—- it also helps that sora has to raise on the tips of his toes to do all of this ; that much also makes the corners of riku’s lips quirk even more, before he’s shifting to reciprocate the gesture with a kiss of his own.
