M is for Mukluk (ABC Project)
Eugene Boulanger showed off his classic Dene mukluks at our Environmental Research and Monitoring Workshop this week in Tulit'a, Northwest Territories. I really love the simple, utilitarian style of these moosehide and canvas mukluks. Eugene is the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Planning of Dechinta University. Dechinta offers University of Alberta-credited Northern and Indigenous courses taught at their on-the-land eco-lodge in the Northwest Territories. The goal of the University is to engage northern and southern youth in a transformative curricula based on the cutting-edge needs of Canada’s North. Learn more here: http://dechinta.ca/.
