TW: Discussion of body weight/bullying.

I have always been a bigger person. I have been since fifth grade. I was always aware that I wasn’t as skinny as the popular kids, and I constantly compared myself to them. People called me fat. I justified being fat was good because I wasn’t as fat as another girl in my grade.

Now, I’m in college. I’m desperately trying to love my body, even my arms that sag and my belly that sticks out of swimsuits.

I’ve been trying to wear tank-tops, and I even tried and failed to find a more revealing bathing suit.

And then, I made my WinxSona on the beach trip. I intentionally made her bigger, and I was so happy.

And then I saw fanart after fanart that depicted her as average weight. Big chested. Skinny arms. No fat rolls.

I loved the fanart. It was beautifully done. But it incited rage in me. That /was not me/.

Then I realized- I hadn’t drawn Ailah in a way that correctly conveyed my body. I showed a tiny bit of cleavage, and her “fat” was discreetly covered by her dress in her Magic Winx form.

So, here’s to loving my body. I sat down with @snarky-art and they helped me figure out how to draw me. Small chest, big arms, and chub. I drew these today and I have never felt more alive. My WinxSona. A princess who is not skinny, and has flabby arms, and no boobs.

So fifth grade me, here’s to all the skinny princesses you had to see. And I say that princesses can be any size.

Winx Headcannons…

• Fairies with abstract concepts for powers, like idk fairy of love for example, have a much harder time learning magic. However, their payoff is huge because their magic is as strong as it is unique.

• Fairies, witches, and specialists are not gender exclusive. Thank you.

• A fairies’ wings are definitely made of pure magic, as magic is an extension of the body. That being said, fairies and witches tire out physically if they use their magic for long periods of time, and will most likely de-transform.

• Witches have transformations too! They’re much less glittery, and use much less magic than a fairy transformation.

•Specialists have inner magic too! They just use it to activate their weapon.

Aaaaand that’s all I have.
