@declaawed: "I thought I'd find you here." (taiga @ yasuko. let them reconnect 🥺)
the recent summers didn't seem as hot as they used to be. the ones back then. with their grueling forecasts and the heat visibly rising from hot surfaces, causing mirages. perhaps she has since become used to the blistering heat. or maybe the setting sun decided to have some form of mercy. they've been through so much, after all.
she greets the gentle evening breeze with her hair in a loose ponytail. bony hands busy themselves with crochet, looping thick yarn and slipping the large needles in a skillful yet absent manner. as if she had practiced it for years. could do it in her sleep if she wanted. her attention, however, was elsewhere. gazing over the skyline that glowed a faint amalgamation of neons and bright orange. kamurocho erased the stars from the sky. above them would soon be a pitch black abyss.
taiga's voice draws her ear and she turns her head slightly, acknowledging his arrival with a soft hm. soft smile accompanying it, she makes no secret of her comfort with her pastel-colored yarn balls, her knees pulled up in her rooftop chair overlooking the city with little else covering her feet beyond turquoise toenail polish.
"not many other places i'd rather be," she's recovering slowly from the chaos of the latest yakuza scandal. but she's in good spirits. "i haven't enjoyed this view in over twenty years. but now it seems like all is where it should be."
she looks back at him again, smooth pale features reflecting a warm glow from the setting sun, "sit with me?"
