She is no FOOL. She knows that there will be scandal, and pressure to abdicate if she’s revealed to be in a relationship with a man who is not only American, but one who so strongly opposes the idea of monarchy, which is something that she, quite obviously, has faith in. God in heaven, what would her parents think if they saw her involved with such a man? It wasn’t that Thomas wasn’t respectable ---- wealthy, intelligent, and in a high position with his work. But the fact that they came from worlds so different would cause discourse through both their lives. “It was only a suggestion, Thomas.
