Decluttering my closet 05
KITCHEN ORGANISATION: Declutter & Clean With Me!
It’s the time of the year again when we are all productive, starting new habits and routines, making resolutions and goals for the whole year. This year is going to be a different year for me since this year I am also turning 20. A legal age, not a teenager anymore.
That’s why I started my year of 2020 with a decluttering of old junks, cleaning and donating clothes for those who are in need. Fix whatever needs to get fixed, and set up goals for this new year as well.
I start of with cleaning my room. Sweeping the floors and mapped it so that the remaining specs of dust with be removed. It’s kind of hard to get because of the hairs and random stuff that is getting in the way.
Then I put up these curtains so that I can have some privacy.
The thing I did is to declutter whatever it is in these drawers. Over the course of the years, these drawers hold a huge amount of stuff that should not be in here.
The first thing I did is to remove the stuff from the drawers and figure out what I should keep and what should not.
Then after that, I tackled this cabinet that I have. This holds a lot of school papers, school stuff, notebooks, book, important files, and memory boxes from the past years.
Then I did my closet.
Just like every other people, I accumulated a lot of clothes from the past year and some of my clothes I don’t even wear from the last 6 months or more. I decluttered the stuff, a lot of stuff in here so that I can make room for the new.
After I removed all of the clothes in my closet, I put it all on my bed to examine those clothes that I don’t wear anymore.
It took me a long time doing it since I have a lot of clothes. Some of which have a memory into it. It took me a hard time wondering if I should still keep it or not.
After all of those, I folded them the KonMari way. If you’re not familiar with the KonMari way of folding clothes, maybe I’ll post something about it in the future.
I am going to keep this pile.
These are the shorts that I am going to keep.
These are the outdoor clothing that I am going to keep.
This pile is the donate pile and my discard pile.
Then I tackled these clothes. These clothes are my hanging clothes. I looked into each of them, figuring out what I should keep and what I should discard. I ended up discarding some of the jackets that are too thick to wear in a tropical country that we have and some of the pants and overalls that I don’t wear anymore.
The next thing I tackled was my underwear. This is self-explanatory so I am not going to explain it further.
The first thing I did was so lay everything to my bed and determine the old ones to the new ones.
Then I put them all back to their respected drawers.
All in all, these are the clothes I decided to discard/donate.
The next thing and the very last is my vanity.
This holds a lot of my skincare stuff, hair tools, hair products, perfumes, make-up, etc. I put them up in one pile and look for their expiration dates.
I wasn’t surprised at all when I saw that a lot of these products were already expired since it’s been a while since the last time I tackled all of this.
Next up is this drawer. I didn’t declutter much here since I use every single product in here.
All in all, decluttering your stuff always feels so good and it makes your space feel lighter and feel more spacious. I recommend everyone to do the same since it’s the new year.
I posted this on my YouTube channel. Check that out if you want to watch it.
