Yes hello hi I would like to discuss ninjastar in the decom 16 au? I saw the comic and fell. Fell hard. Not to mention I love the idea of Justin being stuck with nigel. And Chad being considered a traitor. And ninjas are cool! Better than pirates!

If you're talking to my rooftop comic then yeah it gets crazy lol.
Justin (or J.C. as most call him in this au) was still decommed before he was 13 so this poor lad started as teen leader when he was 10 which is a lot. He had to fight super hard for his status because of this since he's not even 16 yet. So he's a bit of a hardened jerk in this au. :( Not only that he has to deal with Nigel's antics lol.
Oh, the irony of Chad being cursed to be considered a traitor in every universe! Either way he's still badass. Chad just wanted to make Steve proud. Ever since he had his first encounter with Justin everything started to change.
He at first believed that ALL TEENAGERS/ADULTS ARE THE ENEMY because of the KND enforcing that. Chad at first didn't like Justin because this is a Teen Ninja plus he's rude af. Chad wanted to take him down by himself because he's headstrong like that (Plus imagine how impressed Steve and the KND would be!) But then he got to know Justin better and thats when Chad starts to question how KND run things. Steve of course isn't having it because protective dad the fact Steve and Justin HATE each other's guts.
It's also kinda sad because the two used to be close and now there's tension ever since Chad started to question things. Both have a right to be upset but it still sucks and everyone has to awkwardly watch them go back and forth.
When the whole rooftop fight happens that's when Chad has now been deemed a traitor to the KND. It breaks his heart because he wasn't doing anything with malicious intent. He wanted to show Steve that they don't have to fight and decom is fucked up. No one literally won that fight which stings even more. Justin is kinda shocked that Chad defended him from Steve and also sees that facing his own leader/idol wasn't an easy thing for Chad to do. So Justin ends up helping Chad hide away from the KND for a while.
After a while, Chad started coming up with a goal to destroy decommissioning once and for all.
I'm getting emotional just thinking about all this again! It's just a really fun au we have and there's so much. I'm glad you took interest in our little thing!
