“What did I just do….” Despite the song being one of healing and kindness. The youngest hero could feel a seal being broken.
In the dark coldness of the ruins where moblins slept, the ground started to shift, and crack. With a burst of toxic light erupting forth, and what was once a hand pulling its body out....

Title: Song of
Author: Me!
Chapters: 9 (and on going)
This has been something that I have kinda wanted to actually sit down and write out for a while now. Something that I have created with @socksandbuttons and have been writing for well over a year at this point. An AU of an AU with Killcode and the Beans.
Now this thing is actually huge... There's SO MANY different intertwined plots. This is gonna be the intro to the story and a few of the characters. Aaaand it's also going to be a LOOOONG read, but hopefully an enjoyable one. Again this is strictly the intro to the story, all of the different 'branches' of this AU will be told at other times. This is Part 1 of 2... But honestly there could be 3 parts with how much I write....
Also just realized I need to put a massive Trigger Warning for some very dark themes. Particularly Homelessness, Abandonment, Abuse and Cannibalism...
Still, hope y'all Enjoy!!! :D
The story of Abandonment World begins in almost a scarily benign way... Killcode had made the offhand comment to Moon that he wished he could see other cute Beans, like his own....
Moon thought he'd give KC a fun day out and he found a world that had, according to his computer, had lots of cute Beans in it.
So KC gathered Eclipse, Lunar and Bloodmoon and decided on a little family outting.
He didn't know what kind of world he'd just walked into...
.
They enter this new dimension through another ball pit, but from the beginning there's already something off... The ball pit is in a clearly abandoned building. Something that once upon a time had once been a Pizzaplex, much like the one that everyone works in.
The bullet holes in the wall warn that something bad happened here a long time ago...
Still KC and the group are checking the area over, Eclipse tries to boot up an old computer that was still in the room, but there's no power in this place. Still a door opens and a flashlight beam shines in. Freezing everyone in place...
And the security guard falls backwards in pure shock...
Obviously Killcode apologizes and helps the young man up. Poor guy is obviously freaked out at the sight of Killcode... But in spite of the fear, he manages to talk politely with KC. Although, clearly, the discussion that the giant bot was from another dimension does clearly go over his head... Still, the young man introduces himself as Sam. He's the guard at this old abandoned place and he looks like he's maybe 19 years old. As Fazbear wants to prevent looters or Techs from stealing things from things from what's left of this place.
Techs?
The question came from Eclipse and when Sam looks down at him his eyes widen in awe as he kneels down to look at the tiny ever-annoyed bot. Sam asks how Killcode was able to get him to talk. As Bean Dolls normally can't talk, just squeak.
Killcode did NOT like the sound of that...
Eclipse liked it even less... And said some very choice words to Sam. Who was a bit taken aback. Even moreso when he saw Lunar come up and chime in that talking is the thing that Eclipse thought he was best at. Prompting a small fight between the two...
But the second that Sam sees Bloodmoon, he backs up in alarm. Commenting on how dangerous they are... Bloodmoon snickered, but was quickly picked up by KC and Sam was assured that Bloodmoon was going to be on his best behavior.
Nobody told Bloodmoon that...
Still, Sam is starting to truly grasp that KC and his little crew really AREN'T from this world. And the young man sighs... Before explaining that they really can't stay in this place. As not only is that not allowed, but how his shift is ending and it's gonna be dark soon and it will not be safe outside.
Killcode explains he came here for a day, he technically can't go back for the next 24 hours...
Sam... Reluctantly, invites them to stay in his apartment. Or else they'll get ripped apart by what's outside. The area having become far more dangerous in recent times.
Lunar accepts before Killcode could say how he didn't want to impose... So with a sigh, KC picks up his Beans and follows Sam out of the building once he clicks out.
.
The area outside of the abandoned Pizzaplex is... Odd...
Mainly because it appeared that they are right on the outskirts of a bustling city, yet all of the surrounding businesses seem to be closing up early and people are leaving the area in a hurry. Sam takes notice of KC's confusion. As people seem so intent on leaving or closing up that they are not even paying him any real mind.
Sam explains that the city is right up against a particularly dense forest that used to be a great place for hiking and other outdoor activities. Unfortunately, what has moved into that forest in recent months has made all of those activities impossible. How if people venture into the forest now they will be lucky to get out alive-
Killcodes attention suddenly deviated from what Sam was talking about. His eyes drawn to a large, brightly colored and ornate building that had the word Fazbear in brightly illuminated lettering... But when he saw what the sign actually said and what he could make out through the large windows... Stopped him dead.
...Fazbear Bean Doll Store...
Inside of the shop Killcode could make out dozens of... The only word he could describe it was kennels... Each containing one to four different Beans. He could see Suns and Moons... And Roxy's and Monty's. The last customer in the shop was clearly in the process of purchasing a Lunar Bean... Treating them as-
Sam: Toys... Really expensive toys.
Killcode couldn't even form words. He just stared, right along with his Beans. All of them stunned to silence... Not moving until Sam mentioned they really need to hurry up.
Sadly... This was not the only horror that Killcode would witness during that walk.
The next horror that he noticed was that there seemed to still be a lot of children outside without any parental figures around. Particularly in back alleys... But Killcode felt his proverbial stomach drop when he watched a little boy knock over a trashcan and crawl inside. Propping up the lid in such a way that he wouldn't be immediately noticed, but he could see out... This was practiced action. This child has done this many times before.
Eclipse: (Unable to stop himself from asking) Are all these kids homeless?
Sam: Yeah... The ones you're seeing really adapted to being abandoned pretty well. Others just... Well... You know.
Killcode: Abandoned? What...?! Are you saying that their parents just-
Sam: Um... Yeah. For whatever reason, their parents or guardians were done and just left them.
Lunar: Holy @#$& that's illegal!
Sam: ...no it's not. (Looks genuinely sad) If a family has multiple kids and one can't keep up, they often get dumped so that the family can focus resources on the other kids. It's not only kids either... some people dump babies, or decide their teens aren't worth the hassle... Point is, there's tons of reasons for abandonment and it happens all the time.
Killcode: What about homeless shelters? Can't these poor children go to them?
Sam: What is a homeless shelter?
The look on the faces of the bots Sam was talking to said everything that needed to be said...
Sam: So... This doesn't happen in your world?
Killcode: No... Not like this. Nothing like this.
Sam: That actually sounds really nice... Around here, if you end up homeless, it's the end of the road for you. You'll never get out of it unless you're EXTREMELY lucky. Employers won't entertain the thought of hiring people who were thrown away... Otherwise they would probably hire Techs. Unfortunately the thought of that is social cancer at best.
Eclipse: You mentioned 'Techs' before... What are those?
Sam: Pretty much they're homeless people who take pieces of broken technology and make their own stuff... They're essentially technological scavengers. I guess you could say they are one of the few 'organized' homeless communities.
Eclipse: They sound like they could be invaluable to various companies. And nobody hires them?
Sam: All that companies see are people who were thrown away... And that they build garbage from garbage. Nobody takes them seriously. That's... Just life.
Killcode: ...this world is disgusting...
Sam doesn't say anything else, just quietly nods as he leads the group about another five blocks before reaching a very decrepit looking apartment building... One that even sported a big, run down sign that bragged about the hiking trails out back.
Judging how it was the only building in the immediate vicinity that wasn't boarded up, it was doubtful that was still seen in a positive light. But it was near one of the only cars that actually were in the parking lot that Killcode noticed something... Something that made him freeze up as Sam started inputting an overly complex code to open the door to the complex...
Crouched by the car and barely illuminated in the flashing of the dim light of the only working parking lot light... Was a boy, barely 14 if Killcode had to guess. He wore ragged garb and looked frighteningly thin and something in the boys eyes reflected back something animalistic... Feral... But that wasn't the thing that chilled Killcodes very soul.
No, that came from the fact that half of the boys face was adorned in a bright red paint...
And there was a Bloodmoon on his back and looking over his shoulder and staring at the large animatronic.
The two were watching the group for several long minutes before turning around running into the looming treeline. Just as Sam got the door open and brought everyone inside.
KC remained silent until Sam led them to the creaky, barely functional elevator and punched the button to take them up to the 5th floor. Only when he felt the elevator start slowly moving did he finally find the words he needed... To ask a question he was afraid he already knew the answer too.
Killcode: Sam... What exactly is in those woods?
Sam: (Sighs and then looks at Bloodmoon, still being held in KC's arms) Them... Lots of them.
Eclipse: Are you saying that some idiots in this world have mass produced Bloodmoons as well?!
Sam: Pretty much. Bloodmoons are popular. People think the aggression is cute... But it gets old pretty quickly and they either get returned to the stores or thrown out. Unfortunately; enough of them are out there now that they've become a huge problem.
Eclipse: (Eying Bloodmoon) One of these freaks is bad enough. I don't want to imagine him in a pack.
Sam: (Sad laugh) I see them around. A lot of them are little terrors alone. But there's a percentage of them that ally themselves with some of the homeless. And that makes everything a hell of a lot worse... There's dozens of them in the woods now. They've set up some kind of creepy little community in there and they come out at night, hunt and kill people, and drag the corpses back into the forest. Probably to eat.
Lunar: Jesus Christ... Don't the cops do anything?
Sam: Oh they've tried. But the woods are now booby-trapped. I've heard that there's pitfalls with spikes, swinging log traps and tons of other nasty things. Going in there is practically a death sentence now. But also... They mostly started targeting the homeless people. So... There isn't exactly a lot of demands for the cops to do anything.
Bloodmoon: 😈
The slow ascension of the elevator grinds to a halt and the lights flicker for a moment, getting a grumble from Sam that it'll be a minute before it starts moving again.
Killcode: ...I take it back, this world isn't disgusting, it's absolutely revolting.
Sam: This is just reality here... And the little monsters in the woods aren't even the worst part. There's talk... Well... There's talk that the Bloodmoons... That they now have a King. And it's the King who's controlling the rest of them and whatever human allies they have. That he's become the brains behind not just what is going on here in this city... But all over... It's just a rumor though.
Killcode: Well that's alarming... But admittedly doubtful.
Eclipse: I hope to God that it's not real! I don't even want to think about what a smart Bloodmoon might actually look like...
Bloodmoon: We are smart!!
Lunar: Yeah... Keep telling yourselves that Bloody...
There's another jolt and the elevator gets moving again. And after a moment there's a loud DING and the doors open at the 5th floor. Sam leads them to one door and opens it with his key and a tired sigh.
The apartment was small and very run down, but curiously there was the sound of a TV that was on for some reason.
Sam: (Hanging up his Security Guard Jacket) Hey, I'm home and I've brought some guests home. They seem pretty cool, so don't be shy.
The sound of the TV turning off was heard. And then with soft footsteps, a small figure walked from the living room into the kitchen/entranceway.
Killcode genuinely thought he could not get any more disturbed by this world than he already was... Apparently he was wrong... So wrong.
The small figure was a Bean Eclipse...
But a horribly mangled one...
The first thing that stood out most of all was that this Eclipse had no eyes... Just gaping holes with what looked like scars, or claw marks around where his eyes should have been. His left arm was gone... His tiny shirt was tied around the stump of his upper arm in a way that almost looked cartoonish. And the one arm that he did have was missing its pinky finger.
This sight was the final straw for Killcode and it caused him to finally drop the trio he was holding. But to be fair, they had all been pretty horrified by the sight as well...
Eclipse: What the fuck did you do to him?!
Sam: I didn't do anything to him, I found him one night in the trash! We've been together for two years, right after my parents... Well... We're all the other has now. I've been trying to save up to buy him replacement parts. But... They're really expensive and most days my job is just enough for us to keep the apartment and get some food.
Scarred Eclipse: (Awkwardly waves and emits a soft, strange squeak/chirping sound)
Killcode: (Just staring in horror)
Bloodmoon: (For once, it actually seems that something has unnerved them... And they are looking at the mangled, scarred Eclipse with an unreadable emotion.)
Lunar: (Is genuinely just, deeply uncomfortable)
Sam: (Tries to change the subject) So... Would you guys like some coffee or something? I don't exactly have much. Really just coffee, some cereal and I think a few Ramen cups. But... You guys can help yourselves.
Killcode accepted the offer for coffee...
If only because he believed if he was to rest any time at all during this night, he'd be haunted by nightmares of the world he was in...
.
Hours pass...
Sam had offered KC and his Beans the bedroom... Which had a surprisingly comfy looking bed. Probably the only thing in the apartment that looked decent. Killcode had declined and had, firmly and against Lunars objections in particular, saying they would take the couch. Which was where his trio of Beans were currently sleeping... The TV was on low, some sort of rom-com or something. Sam and the scarred up Eclipse are in the bedroom asleep...
KC was just left to his thoughts, more like he was just reviewing all of the nightmarish information this little trip had unintentionally given him. Everything about this wretched world bothered him. It's treatment of the Beans, it's treatment of the homeless... It's treatment of children!! All of these things made him feel like a burning anger in the depths of his soul.
There was a sound that drew him out of his thoughts. A sound of something at the door. Something scratching. KC stood up and silently walked over to the door... The benefit of having soft paws... And he peered through the peephole.
Outside... Stood the 14 year old from before. Still with the Bloodmoon holding on to his shoulders.
They were standing there, grinning. Seemingly aware that Killcode was looking at them. Wordlessly, yet still grinning like he was a madman, the boy made a motion... A simple 'Follow me' and then took off towards the stairwell.
And against every bit of common sense that told him otherwise, KC cautiously opened the door and closed it firmly behind him... and started following the pair.
He followed them all the way up to the roof and when he got up there, the boy was nonchalantly standing at the roofs edge and looking KC over as he approached but stopped a short ways away from the pair... Not wanting to get too close in case they became violent.
Killcode: I suppose this would be a good opportunity for you to try and attack me. But somehow I don't believe I just walked into a trap... You would have attacked me in the stairwell if you meant me harm.
Boy: (Chuckles a bit) You're right about that. We were told not to hurt you. Especially not since you were talking about other worlds and came out of the old Fazbear place without going in...
Killcode: (Realizes that this kid must have been watching that building before his arrival... And gets a sick feeling they might have been low-key hunting Sam... Who had nobody who would report him missing if he disappeared.) ...what do you want?
Boy: (Smiles very creepily, along with his Bloodmoon) Our King wants to speak with you. He sent me to... Invite you to a meeting...
Killcode: !!!
Boy: (Tosses KC a compass with a rapidly spinning, glowing red needle...) When you get into the woods, follow that and you won't fall into the traps.
...oh great, magic is involved...
Killcode: ...and if I refuse?
Boy: (His Bloodmoon emits what can only be described as barking laughter, and the boy looks much more smug) You're gonna want to come... Or else we're gonna have your friends for dinner. 😈
Killcode's eyes immediately widen and he suddenly realizes the terrible mistake that he had made. He seemingly forgot about the feral boy before him and he turned and raced back down the stairs, back the way he'd come...
And when he burst through the stairwells exit on the 5th floor... He saw that Sam's apartment door was wide open. In an instant he was inside, looking at a trashed apartment, his own Beans scattered around the room, groggy and confused. As though some sort of whirlwind had just torn through this place...
Sam and his Eclipse were gone...
That sick realization hit KC as he realized that those two were in serious danger and were very likely doomed to die if he didn't go... And see this... King.
And being completely truthful, knowing how his own Bloodmoon was, and how he was going to be walking into a group of them... him going to meet this King didn't guarantee any safety for Sam and his Eclipse either.
Still, Killcode knew that he didn't have a choice in this anymore and he knew what needed to be done...
.
He wanted to just leave his Beans in the wrecked apartment, but Eclipse had pointed out that might have been even more dangerous than them accompanying him... Which Killcode had no choice but to agree with.
Which was how Killcode, and the others were now in that dense, dark forest, trying very hard to avoid the multitude of murderous traps that seemed to be almost everywhere... All while being VERY sure that every step they took was being carefully watched.
God only knows how long they were walking through that forest. It was easy to see that it had once had active hiking trails that were now overgrown... And all trail shelters and buildings were almost completely overtaken by forest as well. Actually, these woods seemed far more overgrown and treacherous than they should have been naturally...
KC didn't get the chance to think about that for long. He found what he'd come here for...
He found a massive gate and wall, made from dozens of spiked logs. The gate seemed to creak open on its own... and as he and his Beans walk inside he feels like he had just stepped out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Speaking of fire, there were actually dozens of fires burning amidst dozens of strange trees that looked like Redwoods, even though they were nowhere near where Redwoods could normally be found... The city had been surrounded by mountains and due to this, the forest and their hiking trails had specific routes up these aforementioned mountains. But by far the largest mountain in this area and on these trails was the one that they were now at the base of... A mass of stone covered in black, mutated trees that seemed to crawl up the side mountain, but parted near the top, allowing the Moon to shine down completely on this area...
And then there were the buildings... If you could call them that. There was one singularly large cabin that had probably once been a ranger outpost... Only now, KC could see through its open door that was splattered with blood, both old and fresh, that it was likely used for storage... and the butchering of meat.
The rest were all crudely assembled structures, made by the individuals who now call this area their home... And just like Sam had said, there were dozens of humans and Bloodmoons here. Hell, there had to be upwards of 70-75 people standing there right now. But the actual number of people who would live here normally could potentially be much higher... as surely there were others out hunting, or fulfilling other tasks and weren't around at the moment.
Killcode was suddenly pulled from his thoughts as several of the nearby Bean Bloodmoons started circling him... And then yanked Eclipse and Lunar away from where they had practically been glued to his side this entire unpleasant trek.
They found themselves surrounded by a group of very eager Bloodmoons and even a few young children who were clearly following the murderous red bots leads. Both were clearly terrified...
Killcodes own Bloodmoon however was also being looked over by some of the other members of this group of murderous Beans. Only it was clear there was less hostility towards him... Although it was quite clear he wasn't just automatically accepted by them either.
It was just as KC was about to intervene for Lunar and Eclipse, that he heard the rather frightened squeaking cries from the Scarred Eclipse. Looking over to see both that Eclipse and Sam... Tied to a wooden pole surrounded by dried timber. Which made it very clear that they were set up to literally be burned alive...
That was when he heard the laugh... And everyone's attention was drawn to one certain individual. The one who sat upon a small throne crafted from bone, stone and sinew. Someone that they all had finally noticed the presence of...
He would look like any Bloodmoon at first glance. Standing at the basic Bean stature. But to look at him longer, it wasn't hard to see that there were some... Differences... Between him and all the others.
The first thing, the most immediately obvious thing was that one of his eyes was a bright, milky white in color... He was clearly blind in his left eye. He wore darker clothes, all black colored with the only exception being a bright red sash around his midsection and his red shoes. There was some sort of glowing red pendant around his neck, one that seemed to contain a geometric pattern of sorts that if one looked at it long enough, it could easily be likened to that of a Dreamcatcher.
But the one thing that stood out the most, the one thing that made Killcode completely freeze up and realize the extent of how different this Bloodmoon was... Came in the form of a scar... A scar that was above his blind eye. There was a large, crescent shaped scar that could be seen across that section of his head. Killcode had seen that type and style of scar before, once...
In a documentary about Ice-pick Lobotomies...
The small being stood up from his throne, his actions immediately noticed by the other Bloodmoons in the area and they straightened up, as though they were about to receive some sort of orders and wanted to be ready.
But their King seemingly paid them no mind, his one good eye focused solely on Killcode and as he approached he spread his arms in a seemingly grand gesture to the area, smiling the smile that could only be compared to that of an executioner who loved his job... And he spoke, actually spoke, in a voice that sounded staticy and pain filled. Like he'd gargled with broken glass and then electrified his vocal cords only once they were bleeding.
And he said only one word...
Welcome!!!
.
I wasn't lying about how long this thing was gonna be... When I actually get into writing something I often overdo it. 😅 And this AU is very near and dear to my heart and I wanted to be sure I did it as much justice as possible.
Also I bet y'all understand why it's called Abandonment World AU now huh?
"And then!! They swim around SPACE with their pretty tails that reflect STARS!! They have a WHOLE UNIVERSE in their TAILS!!"
"That sounds complicated... how come no one has ever seen them?"
"Can you see an astronaut floating in space??"
"Uhh... You got a point there."
"Space mermaids are slightly bigger than Moonba--- I mean!! Than a space station! They are bigger than a human, but not too much! And when someone is out in space, their whole body turns into a mirror and they reflect what's around them! So they're, like, INVISIBLE!"
"Do they lure astronauts into deep space to eat them?"
"OH NO!!! They're not bad mermaids!! If anything, they try and get the lost people to their main ship! And if they can't, they stay with them and sing to them so they don't feel alone in their last moments!"
"That's sad..."
"You're an adult, Nigel! You should KNOW life is not always happy!"
"Yeah, you're right...
So, how's the mermaid ice-cream?"
"It's YUMMY! How did you get it??"
"Oh, I... I just stopped a truck and asked for it."
"... right. You're an adult, so the ice-cream men are nice to you!"
"Especially if I wear sunglasses."
"... What?"
"What?"
🧜♀️🌌🍦
Here's my commission by @socksandbuttons! ISN'T PENNY ADORABLE IN HER STYLE???? And she managed to get Nigel to look decent too, WOW!!!
This is the story I had in mind when I commissioned her, and she managed to get it PERFECTLY!
!! Bloodmoon has spared you in the most recent fanart episode!!
I- I WAS SPAREDDD?
I was SPARED!!!!
But yes I finally get to share this piece! Not that I wasn't allowed I just wanted to wait until the event was over. @socksandbuttons didn't even realize the girl on top of Ruins head was suppose to be her until after the video ASDFFHHJJ-
The event was lots of fun. Everyone did such good art!
I found this artist's work on Google @socksandbuttons (BTW, go check them out), and I just adore this AU's Eclipse. Like, he's just so adorable! I'm not sure if the way I betrayed any of them in these drawings are lore accurate, but I didn't really find much story on this. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place, though, or maybe it just doesn't exist, either one. Though I did really like that comic with Eclipse and KC, it was really cute.
Also, the first drawing is a redraw of one of their drawings. I thought the original was just so cute! So I wanted to draw it for myself. ^ ^
(I had to take a screenshot instead of downloading the image because my phone doesn't sometimes let me download images from Google. IDK why.)
But look how nice their art is! I feel like I may be going a little overboard on the praise, but I just genuinely think their art is so nice. Anyways, I'm done now. Once again, go check them out if you haven't already! Seriously, they seem really cool.
(Also, socksandbuttons, if you, for whatever reason, want/need me to take this down. Of course I will.)
