DEVASTATING NEWS. I LIED like an evil DECEIVER in my previous post about the Grackle. Turns out, animals HAVE been injured in my yard and I am simply DESTROYED over this.
Something scared away a potential crow friend. I was like "oh? What scared you buddy? That grey oblong trash?" But I thought, no, that's not enough to scare this fella, so what the hell is the oblong trash?
it was a DEAD MOUSE!!! AAAAAAA. One that my mother had just fed this morning, and it wasnt even eaten. Its tiny little mouse face was all BLOODY. And NOTHING had eaten it. So I know the culprit well..... it is this stray cat. I knew it probably hunted around here, now I am sure.
I will call animal control, because I have been worried about the cat being hit by a car anyways, but if its gonna be killing animals and not even eating them, hes gotta go somewhere else, hopefully and ideally a lovely new home with patient owners who will love the cat. But. I'm also worried what if I call animal control, they take the cat, and it just gets put down?? I dont want to kill more animals. I just wanted to have squirrels in my yardddd.
Which reminds me you should follow my uber serious blog @squirrels-in-my-yard where I post. The squirrels.
But yeah the dead mouse is a devastating blow to both my credibility in the common grackle community but also to my ego, thinking I could keep these storybook woodland critters safe from the warrior cat rouge wannabes in my neighborhood.
