I never thought I would return here.
It all felt surreal to him going down the hallways of his old school again. The light seeping through the open windows brightened the hallway with a welcoming atmosphere. However, the usually bustling school yard was devoid of people today. Nearly everyone had gone home for the spring break.
He was alone, left in this place of his memories, while he waited for his uncle. The professor had to do maintenance on the recording equipment for Shining. He wasn’t sure how long it would take his uncle, but he didn’t want to stay at home in bed all day. So he chose to come along, ready to face his school memories.
Waves of nostalgia washed over his heart coming back here. It had been 5 years since then, hadn’t it?

Aine wheeled himself, passing each of the classrooms, a small tablet sitting on his lap for communication. The doors were probably locked because no one was on campus today save a few professors. It was unlikely he would be able to explore any further, but at least if he could find one of the few places in the school that he remembered, then he would be content.
Curiously, he spotted an open door, the entrance to one of the school’s many music rooms. Peeking inside, Aine found no one and decided he could take a break.
The music rooms seemed to be just how he remembered in his memories. Fine oak wood held the floor, and a brilliant piano stood in all its glory. A few music sheets were left on the bench of the piano. He picked one up, reading the sheet, before smiling softly.
It sounded like a nice song to play.
Purely by instinct, he parked himself in front of the piano and settled himself, before lightly tapping on a key.

The oceanside in his dream was always a quiet, dusky place. It was what Aine almost would call his “sanctuary”, quietly hiding himself away from the reality he couldn’t bear.
While he felt completely safe and enclosed in his little world, it was a quiet loneliness that that he had chosen to bear each day.
Why?
Because he feared waking up; he feared living his shattered, meaningless life again.
Aine Kisaragi had no desire to regain the will to live.
And that was that. He was better off to remain here, dreaming of his lost happiness again.
The dreaming male sat quietly in the sand, fidgeting with a small conchshell when he heard the faint sound of footsteps, barely stepping into the sand.
