Asian furniture fascinates me, and like to educate myself. Although Chinese furniture was made from early 14th century BC, most of the earliest surviving wooden pieces were made in the "ming dynasty" which dates to 1368-1644..several hundred years after the fundamental change to chair level living from around the 10th century AD. This piece is a mimicked and produced in about mid century 1940's or post. Covered paper mache or rice paper.
