‘I’ve had some shitty experiences’ The words roll off my tongue like electric currents They don’t even roll, they shoot Spark over my tongue and through my teeth They shock your skin like when my cold fingers brush over your arm and make the hairs on your neck stand sentinel.
Except the hairs on your neck didn’t stand up at all They barely looked up to see who was touching you They didn’t care so long as someone was touching you Looking at you with ghosts haunting her eyes.
‘They won’t all be arseholes’ The words roll off your tongue like a dog doing tricks Trying half heartedly to please its owner Doing just enough to get its treat Lie down, roll over Tell me I deserve better.
‘They won’t all be arseholes’.
Your hands contradict your tongue.
