"Even a little breath and everyone will find out."
There’s onlya little space that he could call the thin line between life and death. Leoknew it was coming, after years of death-defying experiences from the peoplewho he deemed to be his family’s loyal subordinates, he knew that there’snothing he could do to change the line of fate where he could see deathmarching over him from time to time. He doesn’t seem to be bothered about thefact that he could always see the life that he had in every step that he takesto move forward, but he will never regret the echoing footsteps that he hearsfrom the start because he knows how he learned so much from it.
The killer, the woman holding him captive was the one that polices and authorities combinedwere searching for, and he’s the one who managed to track her down alive by themarks that she would constantly put on her victims, making her a diligent yet sadistic,as the act of rebellious carving and marks around the person’s body would beidentified as hers and hers alone; Leo never thought that she could seem andlook innocent, but he should have known how looks could be too deceiving, andin his line of work, he should have known better than to be fooled by a brightsmile, and soft eyes that were staring at him from the moment he caught herpulling another victim to the edge of their sorrow. He tried to stop her, butit was wrong for him to go alone, for her acts were more than just classifiedas strategic and calculated, Leo never thought that he could find a match ofhis own.
"Even a little breath and everyone will find out."
He’sbreathing heavily, in order to save the woman that this girl trapped around thecorner, bounded by the ropes around her body, he should put himself along theline where he could at least salvage the victim’s life; alas, the woman who’sholding the knife along the victim’s face created a small intermission from thefingerprints that he holds, his own—she wore gloves, and in front of his eyes, she kills the woman without any hesitation before placing his fingers along thecurve of the knife, making it seem as if he’s the one who did it.
He couldn’tdo anything but to gulp, the small exhale of his breath was enough to seehimself through a crooked mirror where his mission has been provoked and void. She’ssmart, and she could get away with anything, but Leo is smarter, and he knewthat if he were to let the woman escape, he might not be able to find heranymore. He doesn’t let his breathlinger for a moment; the police traced the location where he placed on himselfand left the tracker on a security who he knew could be diligent and trustedwith such thing.
Now Leo has atleast one minute before the woman could run and escape, before he is recoupedto his own prison cell.
