Ok this might be a lil ranty but here I go

Solo introduced one of the most terrifying concepts in Star Wars and I will stand by that till I die. Not cause it’s any force monster bullshit or anything like that but a very real concept of taking people‘s free will. I know slavery’s been discussed in Star Wars before but people still kept their own minds and opinions and such but with Decraniated you‘re just this empty husk. And judging from the whole vibe of Drydens yacht and Qi‘ra asking one of the girls if they "attended" to Dok-Ondar gave me shivers. Cause that brings up the question of how the Decraniated are serving the Syndicates and their clients. They are meat puppets who will serve you no matter what. So like maybe that’s just me but Solo pulled up with the very real horrors of sex trafficking. And idk if we’ve ever seen a male Decraniated but it sure made me think like of course afab people are gonna be bigger targets for this. Even in the sci fi world with magic space wizards and talking robots there’s still that very real statistic brought forward by the criminal underworld.

Now don’t get me wrong. I love Solo and I thoroughly enjoy Crimson Dawn and the Syndicates. It’s just some background detail that gets me spiraling everytime. I don’t know how much of that was thought through and if I may not be thinking too much into it. It just always gave me the creeps. And I feel like it’s a nice reminder that no matter how fun we think these Syndicate affiliate characters are they’re all still assholes for profiting off immense cruelty.

(And that doesn’t mean you can’t like this character, heck I will stan Maul till the end of time, it’s just a detail I noticed and wanted to talk about)

I was in the engineering library at my old work place working on a weekend doing something. In the room with me is a friend who didn’t work there in real life but was working there now. As they work they’re watching documentaries on their computer one end of the room and I’m doing my own thing the other.

I run out of vape liquid and go over to get a backup bottle. It was in a really cheap plastic bottle that I had decanted into months before. When I try to pout it into my vape I spill it and it stinks. My friend comments that it’s only been there a few months and it’s already gone off.

So I’m trying to clean it up with some paper towels and it covers my hands and reacts with the dust on the table to form a sticky mess so I head to the toilets to clean it off.

There’s a subcontractor accountant who I see coming out of the toilets but as I go in I see what I think are cleaners. I ask them if I can just clean my hands while I’m in there so they don’t have to leave and one of them says with a smile “of course we’re just doing a science experiment”. I don’t question this and come into the room to find 7 women and what look like medical supplies. One of the women says they they have just the thing to get the glue off my hands and while they’re getting it I look round.

I see one of them standing behind a tall table on wheels, covered on top by a sheet with something underneath but obscured. When she spots me looking she quickly covers one end of what’s there before I get to see it. Then I look at the other women and two of them have their heads bandaged but I can clearly see that the top half of their heads are missing under the bandages, they have been decraniated and they have creepy static smiles. That thing under the cloth on the table is about the right size and shape fore a person and most of these women are wearing surgical gowns not cleaning smocks.

I torn back to the woman who said she was going to get something to clean my hands but she’s actually prepared a syringe full of something. She beacons me to enter a door in the room and I’m now afraid. I can see in her eyes that she wants to decraniate me too so I decline and politely leave, rushing back to the library only to then wake up.
