Me side eyeing all the drama in the doll community today:

The whole "fat dolls" discourse reminds me of when Delilah and Jewel were announced as having vitiligo/albinism and (some) people lost their goddamn MINDS.

Like, what's the big deal if different humans are represented in doll form?? Everyone deserves to have their differences highlighted and celebrated, periodt. Some of you youngins might not remember, but for a looooooong time the best fashion dolls were all white. Black/POC dolls were an afterthought, if they were accounted for at all. And forget about different body types: they were all impossibly proportioned.

We've come so far from the lack of doll diversity of the 80s and 90s, but we still have a long way to go in terms of fair and accurate human representation in the doll community. We as adult collectors should WANT dolls that reflect the world around us and not just the status quo of the past. I think sometimes people forget that most of the dolls we love are marketed to children. They deserve to find dolls that look like them. Yes, dear reader, that means fat, trans, nonbinary, eczema/skin issues, disabilities, and other differences should be a thing in modern doll lines. And it shouldn't cause scandal or derision.

If you don't like a doll, no one is forcing you to buy them. That doesn't mean that the particular doll doesn't deserve to be manufactured. Leave that mindset where it belongs, in the past.

Welp, after all this time I finally got close to ROY G BIV on a shelf row! I recently got Delilah, Jewel, and Coco to complete my wants from Series 4 💜 I don't plan on getting Mila unless she goes on deep sale, and maybe not even then. I think Lily is a better fit with the gorls!

Speaking of which... They did my girl Lily dirty... Why hasn't she been on the show yet?? 😱 Also, she looks great with Series 4! Much better than Mila IMHO.
