The Glitter Face Warrior
Olympic 400m bronze medallist DeeDee Trotter is one of the world’s best one-lap runners, and is renowned for her experimental face art. Now get your swag on, look mean and read on.
What is the correct name of the warpaint you put on your face ahead of competitions? I have always simply called it Glitter face, while at the same time when asked about its meaning, I would say, “its like my warpaint”. Oddly enough at some point during the Olympic Games, I would cleverly be named by fans as the Glitter Face Warrior. A nickname, I think, totally fitting!
Can you explain the process of applying Glitter face? The War Paint is made of a glittery powder substance, for those at home, this is not the same glitter you would use on your kindergarten arts and craft project. It is a very, very fine glitter/powder. The second component is the glue, again not the kindergarten kind. This bonding glue is safe for skin and is actually designed to stay on as a temporary tattoo for several days.
To do one of my Glitter Face designs it can take anywhere between 10 to 20 minutes depending on the design/detailing. I tend to use multiple colours and add rhinestones for a little more swag.
