The evening star is shinning bright

I wished to find someone who will make me happy. Thought I found that in this particular someone, but trying with all of my might i could not hold on. Although magic did appear within our happy moments, sadness still managed to out do it all. And what eventually happened was the heartache of letting them go. 

So many "special people" come into our lives. Whether it be for just a short while, long distance, or just gaze from a far, they all have one thing in common. They're just a wish...

My secret...I like you You might not know this, but ever since I first laid eyes on you I was hooked. Passing you by down the halls. Always catching a glimpse of those subtle fall brown eyes of yours. Sometimes when we walked by each other, you gave me friendly smile, which made my heart flutter with excitement. One day I just couldn't take it. The next time I walked by you I wanted say hi...and I did. From that point on we became close friends. Spending each moment together: driving here, eating there partying here, relaxing there we were inseparable... Then one day, you called me with exciting news. I couldn't wait to hear it. Hearing your sweet and chirpy voice each time made me smile deep inside. ...Little did I know that would be the last time I did smile... You told me that you found out this guy liked you and you liked him too. Sad Hurt Devastated What was I to do? What was I to say? You sounded so happy over the phone. So I did what I would normally do... ...make you happy... Letting you go was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I figured I'd rather keep you as a friend, then admit my feelings and risk losing you. So if letting you go was the sacrifice needed to keep you, then that's exactly what I did. Watching you from afar was all I could do. Even though our friendship didn't change, my heart did. Waiting...

Waiting...seems like an eternity. I look at the phone, nothing...wait for a couple minutes; look at the phone again, nothing...Did i give him the right number? Does he remember me? Is he busy? So many mind boggling questions running through this endless mind of uncertainty and nervousness. And then the phone rings. I pick up the phone and try to answer it in a hurry as if my life depended on it. And at that split moment..."Hi"
