Meeting up with my team was exactly what I needed after this heap of flaming trash kind of day. That feeling of adrenaline pumping through my blood always gets me buzzing like a hive of happy bumble bees. That solid vibration from my Bokken sticks into that wall-o-thug was even better. So satisfying. Even my fucked up kick had an element productive pain to it. Maybe that last hit didn’t need to be *quite* so hard but it KO’d that asshole. And who knows what he planed to do to that sweet old man upstairs, so seriously? Fuck that guy. And then one of them made the mistake of going after Francis’s sister. Not…good. I didn’t see what happened but I heard the extreme calm in Excalibur’s voice when she called Dee. All I heard was “Francis killed a guy and I need an adult here.” Then she took off with his sister while we dealt with the clean up. By the time I found Big Guy, he was freaking the ever loving shit out of that poor lady with the smashed head. She was far too freaked out to even let me help so I just kept an eye on Big Guy instead. Thankfully she was smart enough to answer all of his questions. He got real quiet after that and let Dee and Z-Day handle the rest. He didn’t even look at me. Just kept quiet. I tried to ask Mrs. Ex what happened when she came back but she shook my questions and told me we had to clear out. I know what a clean job feels like and this wasn’t it. Between the smashed head lady and whatever happened in the street out front, I’m thinking this was a total shit show. It left me with that same odd feeling I’ve had all damn day. I had to check on the kids at the Brewery to make sure they were all ok. Thankfully there was nothing unusual but I felt better just giving them a heads-up about Big Mood City today. As much as I wanted to just hang with Ravyn and the gang, I knew my foot wasn’t going to fix itself like that. I made up some excuse about meeting Thea for diner. Ravyn noticed though and asked if I was ok. He always sees more than people realize. I pulled him aside and gave him the supercut version of the fight. His eyes got real big like they do when I tell him stuff about our jobs, but I know I can trust him. He won’t say anything. I guess the upside of fucking up my foot is that it gives me time to process whatever the hell just happened while I ride on this dank-ass bus. The down side is having to listen to a PWG (Privileged White Guy) tell me everything that’s wrong with my generation while we creep through traffic. What a fucking day to lose my earbuds…
