I Had A Dream! (A Star Wars Story)
Some things to consider while reading.
-This does not tie into the story nor does it really fit a timeline.
-I’m sure there are loopholes to this… plot? Whatever you would call it?
-Yes, this was an actual dream. If it’s dumb, doesn’t make sense, or left you wanting more, I get it. Dreams do that.
With the above being considered, enjoy my procedural-generated story set in the Star Wars Universe!
I was some salvage farmer on a planet. A fringe world that has seen Empire occupation within the last few months. I wasn’t very good at salvaging but it was job and it paid fairly decent for this economy. We worked day in and day out salvaging stuff, whether it was fallen star-ships of past battles to wrecked pod racers, anything we could get our hands on that would turn a coin.. There was also some new guy, never did get his name. I suppose it does matter since he later decided to become a "junker". We preferred the term salvage farmer, “Junker” was a derogatory term used to describe someone that chose to live in junk they salvaged. An incident occurred where the "junker" guy started fooling around with our beautiful female salvage farmer. She was sweet but didn’t talk much either she liked to keep to herself or she had difficulty speaking. We never got her name but looked after her though, a lot of weird people out there. She did her job fairly well and we all appreciated her. This “junker” liked to get close to her talk... in a weird way. This got the attention of Darin Reese who was one of our best salvage farmers. Darin threatened him and told him not to speak that way with her again. The junker didn't like that so some animosity formed between them. Nothing violent ever happened but there was always tension. Eventually Darin, the girl, another guy and I left the salvaging industry. The salvage fields were drying up and money was getting harder to come by.
On our travels through different cities looking for other job opportunities we came across a charismatic individual by the name of Han Solo who was smuggling for the Rebellion. We all heard and knew the stories, the rebellion, the battles, the rumors of a moon sized battle station. He appeared to be in a bind and needed some individuals that knew the region. He offered us jobs that paid more than 6 months worth of salvage pay. All of us took the job without andy hesitation and started working for him. This got us into hairy situations sometimes it was having us run packages through firefights, others were help him lie low. One of those notably where me and Darin had to impersonate Storm Troopers. We were acting as guards surrounding the interior of a conference room that was said to have some important information exchanged that could aid the rebellion. This did not go well for me unfortunately. The meeting didn’t even begin. A visiting General for the empire noticed me almost immediately. Maybe it was my posture, or my height. Whatever it was he saw through me like a pane of glass. He asked me with a smirk on his face "New recruit, would you kindly fill out the new recruit form for me?" The entire room was quite. I couldn’t see it but I know that Darin was just as terrified as I was. I was practically shaking in the Storm Trooper armor and he could see that. He handed me the data pad. Looked around the conference room. “You do know how to do this, am I right?” Had I actually been a new recruit I would know how to fill out this form. I didn't though and fumbled with it for a long time, I put in my name wrong. This was it, I was done. I started over again but couldn’t figure out how to enter my name. His lips retracting into a smile the longer I fumbled.
Suddenly and quickly, he grabbed the handles of hovering-repeating blaster-rifle mounted turret with the gun mounted on the bottom and said "I'm going to pull this trigger until the battery runs dead” the gun aimed and press against my stomach "if you can stop me from killing you with it right here, I'll let you go!!!". I immediately shoved the barrel away from me, he squeezed the trigger without hesitation. Blaster fire whizzing past me hitting the floor and walls behind me. The amount of light beaming off of this barrel produced a strobe effect in the room. He began to against my outward direction forcing the gun back to my torso. It became apparent that I was not stronger than this general. I mean I worked outside but I was not combat trained. At this moment I learned what pain was. The struggle was slow and real. What seemed like forever happened faster than I recall. The guns lasers started tearing through my armor, then clothes and eventually me! As soon as the first few bolts or energy tore through my flesh I instantly jolted. This jolt also freed the gun from the generals grasp. I did not know how to operate this weapon and didn’t have time to learn so I did the only thing could do, run.
I also learned that I was bleeding pretty heavily from the wound. I managed to escape my pursuers with all the hysteria that ensued from the gun blasts. That general has a blood lust I have never seen in another human being. By this time the entire facility was aware of our presence. Red lights are flashing, sirens and horns are going off. The loudspeaker shouting commands out with such a systematic approach, it was clearly rehearsed. I found a room to hide in. To my surprise the cute girl was there. Without saying a word she ran up, removed the Stormtrooper armor from me and and began tending my wound. I imagine Darin’s cover was still successful and suspected he was able to escape, I hope. The girl and I continued our escape of the facility it was early morning but before the sunrise so we still had the night on our side. I blame the blood loss and adrenaline running through my body as I cannot recall how we escaped. All I know is that by the time I realized we were out of the facility the sirens were almost inaudible.
As we got out of the installation and onto the streets we found they had already begun searching here as well. There were so many Storm Troopers. In groups and running rampant. Asking bystanders questions, if they saw anything suspicious, I suspect. We ended up hiding in the back of a freezer truck for some time. It was so cold in there but the numbing temperatures. made the pain of my side less of a conscious forethought. The door to back of the van opened allowing the warm air to rush in. There stood Darin still dawning the Stormtrooper attire save for the helmet which was nowhere to be found. He quickly introduced the girl and I to a individual by the name of Lando Calrissian and he offered to get is out of here. Lando mentioning he owed Han something and that helping us get out of there would pay him back. Relieved we accepted this gesture and made our way to the spaceport. I was either unconscious or not paying attention but we manager to get away for the immediate search quarantines that were in place. We seemed to be seeing less and less storm troopers which put us at ease a little. We finally made it to the spaceport. The sun just started rising and looked absolutely beautiful. We all seemed to be here, The Han, Lando, Me, Darin, the other random guy and the cute girl. We escaped! All was well...
And that's how I went from a salvage farmer to a wanted rebel of the Empire..
Then I woke up...
