I'm honestly surprised that not a single Anton Kabanen era song made it to the quarter finals (I expected at least Touch in the Night). Also it seems like all songs of the new album are eliminated now, but I think they fought very hard for such a recent album (funnily enough I was listening to the album right as you posted for the quarter finals)

I have to say: this bracket has been a very interesting one so far. Also I managed to vote for almost every losing song :p

hahaha yeah many songs I voted for lost too. I honestly did not know which songs were from the Anton Kabanen era, but I was sure of Touch in the Night, because it sounded most like a BIB song to me 😂 (or... the other way around, you get what I mean). Anyway, that battle particularly was very hard for me because I loved both TitN and Master of Illusion, and I have a feeling TitN might have gone further if it had faced some other songs in the last round. But we'll never know for sure.

But yeah, newer songs tend to do less well, so I also think the new album songs fought well for only being out so shortly.

Never broken one, but the one time after I did my nails (not even long and just a neat length with some nail polish) I accidentally scratched across the instrumental fade out of the last song on one side of The Who's Quadrophenia 😭 so I have to manually finish that side because it would keep skipping back endlessly

Are you interested in the cockpit of the DC-3 ? I had the joy of talking to a DC-3 pilot at an airshow I was working at, and he let us take a look inside (plus bonus picture of the outside with my friend giving a thumbs up from inside the cockpit)

Just read your tags on that Gerrit about (about the faces he pulls) and you put that to words so absolutely beautifully. It's honestly an honour we get to see him so passionate about his music. It's also probably the reason why I'm so abnormal about that man

gerrit‘s musical talent will always be beyond my understanding tbh :D of course a large part of that is just his naturally given absolute pitch, plus getting supported by his family musically since a very young age, but even with knowing that it will never stop me from being in complete disbelief whenever he puts his hands on the piano keys and just plays a melody he has only heard a few times before. music just seems to be flowing through his veins, and especially as a (well, dabbling, compared to gerrit) musician myself, it fills me with so much joy and admiration seeing him play, and feel the music.

I had a question about the upcoming covers bracket. What covers will be allowed? Symph/pm covers of non-symph/pm songs? Non-symph/pm covers of symph/pm songs?

Symph/pm covers of ALL songs. The cover has to be symph/power metal, the genre of the original doesn't matter (so it can be a symph/pm song but it could also be ABBA or whatever).
