HAHAHA. Deepal's secret weapon is wet cat demeanor. Works surprisingly well. Good luck trying to ever supplant them if you don't steel your heart.

Hello! This is my 2nd time playing (I love it so much) and it's been awhile but the beast mode password isn't working on the Deepal Challenge Match PT 2. Am I doing something wrong?

Hiya! Bit of a spoiler/narrative design musings under the cut :)

While the first Deepal challenge match was 'impossible to beat', signaling the MC's limitations not just in skill but also in settling into the team/new environment of playing in college. They hit a glass ceiling, so to speak, because they just didn't feel ready.

The second Deepal challenge match, however, actually makes all the choices about belief rather than actual technical skill. If you look closely, none of them are gate-kept by skill checks.

This mirrors the first challenge match and tests to see how far MC has come since then, in terms of truly believing in themselves and having that mental strength/fire/desire to be the best—that they deserve the No. 3 spot—without which, they will never beat someone of Deepal (or Tobin, or Rayyan)'s calibre.

TLDR: When it comes to beating Deepal, who's a gritty, endurance-based player, that it's actually less about skill and more about resolve and how much MC wants it. The beast mode activation is a bit of a red herring, as I want players to come to the realization at the end that if they won, it's because they believed in it, and if they lost, it's because they weren't ready/still had doubts they haven't fully overcome (or didn't actually want it enough).

Hope that was interesting, and I certainly welcome any thoughts/feedback you might have!

all my love to Jordan and his bombastic side eye, the lad hast seen too much i fear... it always kills me when i get a G scene and then it cuts to Jordan standing there horrified. also why is Deepal clairvoyant??? god bless any poor fool on this tennis team trying to have clandestine rendezvous with a Frenchman. its impossible to have a secret around here lol you enter the locker room and D is like "yesterday at 0200 you were seen locking lips with an enemy of the state" like HELLO what am i, a senator??? i swear he knows everything

anyway thats my conspiracy theory on why D is not actually a sts major/film minor but rather an omnipotent being currently playing tennis. nothing can change my mind. thank you <3

HAHAHAHA. Well. I do think Deepal has probably made a deal with some supernatural being for their ability to know every piece of gossip at all times…

But it’s probably also to do with the fact that they’re the go-to person for lots of people when it comes to talking about things…

Also yes. Poor Jordan. It’ll be a long year ahead.

Will there ever be a possibility of Deepal being a character we can romance? I’m a DIE HARD Deepal lover and it’s always made me sad we can’t romance them:(

I understand if not, but it’d be a lovely thing if we could.

Ahhhh, I too LOVE Deepal with a passion!!

But nope, no plans for Deepal to be added as an RO, because I wanna make all the RO routes as well-fleshed out as possible (and focus on having lots of branching for the 4 main routes + Felix).

That said, CT:OS is very much about the friendships / platonic / other types of relationships, and Deepal's very much a major side character. I definitely hope to continue to have impactful scenes and character development for Deepal, even if they're not an RO!

Okay VERY important question:

Who's winning the team bet on when MC and Tobin are going to come clean about being together? Because between Emerson and Deepal there's no way one hasn't been made yet, right?

This is SUCH a fun idea, and one I’m absolutely implementing in the next chapter, I promise!

The scene where MC’s teammates finally confront ‘em about their potential relationship with Rayyan / Tobin… I think we’ve all (Emerson and Deepal included) waited long enough!

There is a cute scene you get with Deepal if you confide in them after royally screwing Rayyan/Tobin’s heart this update though! No spoilers but you’ll unfortunately first have to break their heart :{
