There’s a lot in this ask!! One of the reasons I ask people to be careful about how much they send me is because of my anxiety. I understand it’s easy for you to type out everything you need from me into one box, but please try to be considerate of my time and effort as well. I prefer a maximum of three askbox things in one ask, and I also prefer one question per ask for things related to the show. I also prefer it all to be separated, as much as possible, because then if I want to answer one thing and do the others later, I can :)
I haven’t been following the show from the start. I started watching it in late 2012, it ended during my first watch through. The period near the end of the show was very confused. As far as I can make out, Akshay Dogra and Deepali Pansare made it clear that they wanted to leave, and that was all arranged before Sobti got Very Serious about leaving. I don’t think the show was ending when they made their decision – at that point the conversation seems to have been centred around recasting or killing Arnav’s character but continuing the show.
Sobti’s final decision to leave, come Hell or high water, and the subsequent decision to end the show, came very late, which is why the final few weeks of the serial are what they are.
That’s what I’ve gathered from all the interviews and stuff after the show ended.
