The venn diagram of people who hate transmascs, intersex people and asexual people is truly a circle. It’s all the same reactionary scapegoating of a part of the community you see as “less than” and “not really oppressed” to attempt to prop yourself up and feel morally superior rather than doing the actually valuable work of combatting the bigotry aimed at all of us. And naturally all of this is wrapped up in the thought terminating cliche of “read this book from 2007 that the author has since changed/became more informed about many of her positions in modern times and admits its many flaws” in a way that makes it abundantly clear that they don’t actually care about trans people’s rights and liberation they just care about playing identity police as if that will get the boots off our collective necks. It’s obnoxious that’s for sure but unsurprising.
