Today would have been Betty White's 100th birthday. Never before have we expressed the collective feeling that we've lost someone too soon about a person who has lived to nearly a century. It is truly a testament to what Betty meant to us. Lucy and Betty were very close friends and met in the late 1950's while Betty was working on 'Date With The Angels' that was taped at Desilu. Betty considered Lucy to be "just like family", and over the years, she and her husband, Allen Ludden, were frequent guests at the Mortons' home. In addition, Betty's mom, Tess, and Lucy's mom, Dede, were best friends, according to Betty. The second photo shown here was taken by Lucy of her friends in her pool house in Beverly Hills. Tess, is standing, left. Betty is seated, right. First photo is from my collection. "Lucy was one of my dearest friends. Our mothers were best friends. She was dynamite. Everything you saw was what you got."—Betty to Dana Daly, article, 'Do You Remember'. #bettywhite #happybirthday #centenarian #deeplymissed #icon #lucilleball #friends #gonetoosoon https://www.instagram.com/p/CY2BXKOPw6h/?utm_medium=tumblr
