Atsushi didn't know much about sports outside basketball, sure, but he was pretty sure there was something wrong with this ball. For one, it wasn't at all round. "How are you supposed to dribble or kick this...?"

He picked it up, tossing it up once or twice, trying to figure out its use and, more importantly, who it belonged to. He had quite a few questions for the owner.

[swim-caps] + [headcanon]

Rin does the same thing as his father did, pulling back the strap of his goggles and letting it snap against the back of his swim cap. He does it for a) memory of his father and b) for good luck. It helps him remind of his goal of becoming an Olympic swimmer.
