thoughts on shaving

I hate it. I think it’s super annoying and hard and boring and time consuming. I mean for fucks sake, I often struggle to even take a shower, so what the hell do y'all mean I have to also maintain a hairless body on top of that in order to be considered pretty and feminine!? I really do wish I could end this rant on a confident “so I don’t shave anything!” but that would be a lie cause I’m a total goddamn sellout. Or well, I shave my armpits and the lower part of my legs. That’s all I can realistically manage.

But I gotta honestly say that even though I think the whole concept is bullshit, that it’s perfectly okay to be a hairy feminine person, that girls who don’t shave are still HOT and that you shouldn’t shave for anyone but yourself, I still shave - and not because I genuinely want to, but because it’s expected of me. I only do the bare minimum (armpits and lower legs) but I am very much embarrassed to admit that I am not currently confident enough to slack more than that despite shaving never having been a satisfying activity for me.

I struggled a lot with depression the last couple of years and I finally had the guts to move out (will do so in two weeks) and study in a different country, I’m gonna live with four strangers, which is incredibly scary to me, since I’m the biggest introvert ever. But I feel like life is about trying to get out of your comfort zone and that’s what I’m trying to do. :)
