there was something STRANGE about seeing familiar faces from his past . he had always been adamant that he had to leave them to get on with their own lives once he left them . that they were able to live ordinary , wonderful , human lives . the type of life that he could always covet but could never have .
he would never UNDERSTAND how humans could slip so easily back into seeing familiar faces . when he did it , it broke his hearts . for them it could be mere days since they parted . for him , it could be LIFETIMES . && in this case it wasn’t just a few thousand years . it was two regenerations past . whether or not she would see past his face && see just him , well , that was something that made him worried beyond REASON .
though that expression never played across his face , his usual expression still that one of a grumpy old man as he brought the TARDIS to a screeching stop , staring at the scanner as rose tyler stepped further across the street , she dumbfounded to see a familiar box once more . standing to full height , the doctor unbuttoned his jacket before running his hand through his hair . a momentarily sigh ESCAPED his lips && he opened the TARDIS doors .
‘ rose tyler . ’ he said . ‘ there’s a FACE i never thought i’d see again . ’
