Dashing! I want to see something authentic.
Or expensive.

“Aliens do what? You do realize there are no such thing as... Really, what?” Rian stared at the other, mouth slightly agape and confusion plaguing his eyes. “How idiotic do you think I am?”
defiantambiguity a réagi à votre billet : "Fuck, Angie. What else is there to say?"
“You know, you love it, sweetie. Though… hm, and what if I do?” He leans forward, his grin cocky.
“... What are you trying to accomplish, Alfred?” she scoffed at him, turning the pearl bracelet she wore around her wrist around, keeping her tone low for now.
The Hotel Room
premeditated starter with @defiantambiguity
The comforting smell of a bleached pillow and clean linens did nothing, nor did turning off the lights and letting the heating unit in the room make faint white noise, nor did the usual magic trick of holding a pillow to his own chest to help make his arms feel less empty and weighted on by air pressure. Laying there on his back took skill, to seem quiet and wait for Alfred to go to sleep, and to avoid the urge to see how long it had been since their stalemate began. Even if some aid was delivered after the collapse, Ivan knew better than to assume he and Alfred were on equal ground.
Alfred had won.
It was a fact that Ivan was trying very hard to swallow in completeness, by rubbing his face in his status as a failure, and trying to embody the traits that were needed to provide for the good of the world- which was just to step back and close his mouth. It didn’t matter what he said, and there was no reward from trying to reach out to people running away from you, or trying to gain the very human feeling of sympathy to feel better. It didn’t last. Ivan shouldn’t need it on the long term.
But he wanted it. He wanted sleep more, to forget that he was trying to stay awake out of suspicion for a longtime rival. Or that something about being unable to sleep and simultaneously ashamed of wanting sleep was stirring him. Churning. Somewhere behind his eyes, something was boiling over and making the smoky outline of the ceiling light a bit looser in the edges. Ivan’s eyes began to burn, but he couldn’t move, just barely moving his hand to press the pillow farther into his chest.

“Ah, I don’t remember the exact decade.” or even century, for that matter. Spanning over two millennia his memory wasn’t the most functional, and he tended to confuse details and blur timelines and events unless he really put his mind to it.
“It was sometime when I was very young. Probably first century BC. My mother first told me this story as a warning for laughing too hard. I remember getting a bad stomach ache from it.” and now he wished he remembered what he’d actually been laughing at.

Oh, Alfred may have seemed like a boy playing king at times, but he knew. Empires never lasted. The sun always set. Yet knowing was one thing; believing, another. It was hard to imagine a world that did not rest in the palm of his hand; not when it was so plainly there in the present, “I’m careful. Don’t worry.” But was he?
Those words were so familiar, and her mouth quirked into a small frown as memories flipped through her mind. Her father, her mother, and for a brief period of time even the man she lived with had said words with an eerie similarity. Still, what could she do about it? “The grounds a long ways down when you’re on top. Even the best of acrobatics would die from a fall that high.”

No, no, dude, I actually do want to see you sword fight. [ he’s a child and would love to see anyone throwing around sharp objects tbh ]
[regards him with a small frown] ...Hm. It’s been quite some time since someone has made a request like that. If I am to be honest, I likely to do not have the same strength I once did. My skills have probably deteriorated with time.
Fumbling around in the dark, Alejandra Ramos rummaged through the dresser. And the closet. And the bedside table. "Dammit, where is it?" she grumbled. This would have been easier had she a flashlight, but alas. She didn't even have her phone. Wait, yes she did. She pulled the outdated brick from her pocket. Just as she did so, something moved from the other side of the hall. "Fuck!" she hissed, diving under the bed. This was not her bedroom. The noises drew nearer. The drawer to the nightstand was still open! She tried to reach up and close it, but why risk getting caught? Maybe Alfred wouldn't notice. Yeah. He wouldn't. He was dumb as hell anyway.
