what if trees can feel pain don'tcha think that's real messed up

      ➵  she had been silent for A WHILE now. just her brother’s footsteps and the soft wind which was blowing against her face reached her ears. a huff here and there - muffled THROUGH LIPS - coming from her at almost every bump on their way. her left side and shoulder still hurt. a lot. mahuri didn’t quite understand why she wasn’t ALLOWED to walk by herself - after all, her feet and legs were fine. at least they felt like it.

      maybe it was because of her fall ? maybe he was concerned if she hit her head ? but would she really want to believe somebody being concerned for her health ? no, she wouldn’t allow such thoughts. her brother should care for himself, not for her. if she was the younger sibling or not. SOMETIMES, they stopped. or at least it felt like he was slowing down. was she too heavy ? was he exhausted ? mahuri tilted her head to the side, trying to catch a glimpse of her brother’s face from behind him.

     but instead of a proper reply, she merely recieved a counter-question. WELL. not technically a question to strike out hers. it was more of a loud thought. was he really alright carrying her all this way ? surely, she wasn’t TOO heavy but she must’ve exhausted him. she was sure of it. ( WHAT IF TREES CAN FEEL PAIN ). it rang in her head a few times before she sighed and looked up and around herself. this time NOT to try and figure out his facial expression.

    she paused. thought for another moment. well - TECHNICALLY - plants were living beings so it wouldn’t be too far fetched to think they were able to feel pain. 

  ❛  trees bleed, when you cut their bark off so i suppose they can                       feel pain ? i mean it’s SUPPOSED to seal the cut                      so the tree doesn’t get infested with something, but                      that technically counts as pain-prevention, right ?                      i WOULDN’T say trees have a soul to process pain properly,                      though.  ❜
