The domain that I will be addressing is child welfare and the call for abolition. A growing number of U.S. scholars and policy analysts are advocating for the abolition of the child welfare system. However, most foster youth do not see this as a solution. In fact, the argument for abolition is perceived as coming from people who lack an understanding of being in foster care and experiencing a dysfunctional environment with their family.
