A commission for my friend Russo of him as his favorite MTG card, Deflecting Palm! Was definitely an experiment trying to recreate the card, but also a lot of fun. ^_^; So I hope it turned out okay~ <333

Hi, I'm a noob on magic and I want to know if you can use "Deflecting Palm" into a Eidolon of the Great Revel... I mean If I need to deal 2 damage to my opponent (for example), can I use Deflecting palm, Eidolon make me 2 dmg, I don't take that and redirect?... And, if I take that 2 dmg, but then I play a Lighning bolt or lava spike or something like that, Eidolon makes me 2 dmg, can i redirect that and deal 5 dmg with the eidolons and the spell?... Thanks a lot :)
Eidolon’s trigger from you casting Deflecting Palm will resolve before Deflecting Palm does, so that damage is going to be dealt to you.
However, you can choose Eidolon as the source when Deflecting Palm resolves, and the damage it would deal to you for casting your next cheap spell this turn will be dealt to your opponent instead, so you can bolt for 5 as you said.
Hi! A creature with Become Immense + Temur Battle Rage is about to deal damage to me. I play Deflecting Palm using Pyromancer's Goggles to pay for the red mana part. Do I get to prevent both instances of damage from the creature with Double Strike? Thank you! :)
Both instances of damage will be prevented and then dealt back to your opponent by the Deflecting Palms. Each instance of damage can only be prevented by one of the Deflecting Palms, so the second one waits around for the creature to deal damage to you again later in the turn, thus catching the second set of combat damage.
My opponent attacks with a 5/5 creature. We each have 2 life. I cast deflecting palm on it. Because combat damage doesn't use the stack, I would still lose, right?
No. You win.
Deflecting Palm’s ability is a prevention effect, so the damage is never dealt to you and then that much damage is dealt to your opponent instead.
Can DEFLECTING PALM prevent the damage done by the SCAPESHIFT combo?
Deflecting Palm would only affect the damage from a single Valakut trigger, but that can still be useful if it’s the difference between losing the game or not.
