🌲 Welcome to Deforest Valley! 🌲
Sul-sul, Simmers! I’m excited to introduce my newest custom hood: Deforest Valley! 🏞️
I’ve always loved making custom characters and neighborhoods, but naming hoods… not my strong suit. So when someone suggested I name it after the first thing I saw, it just so happened that one of my favorite actors was on TV in the background. And voilà—Deforest Valley was born. 😆
For this hood, I went with a pre-made template (I think it was the Desiderata Valley one) because I didn’t want to go hunting for and installing a whole custom map. BUT, I removed all the premade townies and used NoTownieRegen by Pescado so I could populate the hood myself. I left it so the game could generate other NPCs naturally, which adds some extra unpredictability and fun. I’ll be sharing pictures of my custom townies soon!
At first, I thought I’d make pre-set families, but then I realized I love letting my Sims pair off naturally using mods and preferences. So instead of families, Deforest Valley has:
24 single Sims, 1 male and 1 female of each zodiac sign
16 custom “starter” townies, divided into 8 male and 8 female, each with random zodiacs
Some names are little Easter eggs from fandoms I post about on my other blog—because why not sprinkle some extra fun for those who notice? 😏
Playing a custom hood, character-based, is my favorite way to connect with the Sims individually. I’m planning a separate post to dive into my gameplay rules and methods so you can see exactly how I run my hoods and chaos experiments.
Stay tuned for photos of Deforest Valley’s residents, and maybe some juicy Sims drama! 💥
