You Will Be Found 2021 vs You Will Be Found 2016

i like how it sounds so natural in 2016, no auto tune, sounds more acoustic.

although I love the “out of the shadows” part in the 2021 version so much. It’s so beautifu. the vocals are also amazing

in the 2016 one, I like the vibrato that Ben and the rest of the cast uses.

Okay also I love Laura’s “when youre broken on the ground” because it changes notes, like: “when you’re broken on the grou-ow-nd” which is so beautiful, but the movie one is too.

Alana’s part in 2021 gives off major ariana debose the prom vibes which I loved as well. Amandla has such a strong voice

Today is a beautiful addition to the musical. they should’ve revealed earlier in the song that it was Conor even though the audience suspected it. it’s a nice hopeful genuine song rather than Evan’s ones which are based on lies.

hopefully the ben platt fandom won’t hate me for liveblogging both parade and now dear evan hansen 2021.

requiem is my favourite song and i feel like they did it badly. the cross fades were cheesy, the car scene was unnecessary and a cheap shot and took away from what is already an emotional moment. overall the editing or script did take away from the emotion. some parts were voice-overs not sung or they would cut away to random shots like the house etc rather than let the actor really go for it. once again it feels a little subdued or soul-less or (ironically) through a window.
