Hola everyone! I’m Dahlia and I’m 1000% excited to be here. I’m going through exams at the moment, so I definitely needed a break from staring hopelessly at my textbooks, haha. So, let me tell you about Lamonte!
He’s originally from Jamaica, but he came over to the states by plane in the very beginning of the apocalypse. He had family in the US, so he needed to assure their safety.
Monte is ex-military, but only a few years since he’s been discharged. He had an injury to his right arm due to complications to a mission. In short, he had a metal pole lodged in the right bicep for over four hours while waiting for air assistance. It’s truly a miracle he still has some use for it. He often is in pain because of this injury, but he won’t whine about it.
He has been color-blind since birth, but he doesn’t let that stop him from observing the world. If you catch him staring at you, he’s really not staring at you, but at the entire scene before his eyes. Monte truly has an artist eye despite him not being able to paint/sketch as diligently as he could before leaving home.
His label is “the Enigma”, because if you’ve known Monte his whole life, you truly don’t know him. He doesn’t open up to people at all. Thus, his relationships have been short and not so sweet in the past. It’s not that he prefers to be alone, but he doesn’t see the need to be vulnerable with the chance of psychological distress. Thus, he serves as an amazing listener and can sympathize at times (if the person he’s talking to is making an idiotic decision, Monte won’t hold his tongue however), but there is no 50/50 exchange.
In summary, Monte treats people cordially until that level of respect is disrupted. He’s not a violent man unless touched first.
