Do you have blurbs on Swiftlight and Deino's personalities? From the bits you've posted Swiftlight seems a lot more eccentric and less like your classic chivalrous knight in shining armor than i would've expected
I keep rewriting and deleting this because I keep getting too excited and I'm trying to formulate my explanation in the perfect way
But, essentially, yes!! Swiftlight isn't meant to be all that chivalrous!! Both roles in the dynamic have certain amounts of inherent corruption to them, as it was the dynamic I was super curious about moreso than the literal dragon vs knight part (though that's also so so fun for the scenes)
Swiftlight's based on a subversion of the "good guy knight" trope. She might serve the greater autobot Cause, rather than one specific king, but there's a nice "might as well be a king though" there too with how over the top this loyalty is. I don't really know how to describe her beyond "she really REALLY REALLY wants to be a Noble Yet Distant symbol for the autobots but comes off as very aloof". She's equally prepared for the war that's been her entire life to end any day now and yet can't possibly imagine what life would be like without it. Her main two character comparisons are idwg1 Tyrest and TFA Optimus.
Deinopteryx is pretty much the opposite. She plays very heavily into the symbolism of absolute strength, corruption, and arrogance that dragons represent, and her only loyalty is to herself. She's still technically a decepticon, she kept the badges and she embodies the spirit pretty well, but she doesn't really care about the actual decepticon cause or DHC. So she deserted the main faction to go be a menace elsewhere (still undecided on whether she did this alone or with a small group of genericons). She is a villainous pest and I mean that with all of my heart. Absolutely the type to taunt and play mind games during a fight to make it more enjoyable. Her main two character comparisons are Unite Warriors Megaempress and various iterations of Deathsaurus.
