So di keeps her name after her transition?

Diarmuid becomes Deirdre (changes her name) but Deirdre is also kind of separate concept in the story from Diarmuid so I have been calling her Diarmuid because that separates them I guess and specifys who I am talking about

also for majority of the story Diarmuid is Diarmuid and so it feels odd to call her Deirdre because until I fully finish the story it feels like Deirdre doesn’t really exist yet ?
