genuinely starting to make me very angry <///333 like I actually don’t fucking care if you don’t think she’s a trans girl!!! Can you shut up!!! It feels like this character was very obviously confirmed as trans fem and a bunch of people jumped to being like ohhhh!!! well it wasn’t technically confirmed!!! Or ohhh!!! well yeah she could be trans but I still see her as a guy!!!! and like yeah, obviously a lot of it’s transphobia. of course some transphobic cis person watching tadc isn’t going to love transfem Jax being canon. But I have seen so many trans people being like yeah I still see Jax as a guy or yeah I still see Jax as transmasc and like??? YOUR TRANS!!! HOW ARE YOU NOT GETTING THIS????
I don’t really care if you’re transmasc and you want to headcanon her as that or whatever, it is very obviously implied that she is a transfem character and choosing to ignore that and even deny it is just so fucking annoying. As trans people we get so little representation, especially of characters that are pretransition, and to take that away or ignore that representation because it isn’t the exact same transness that you experience is so weird and upsetting to me. I am transmasc, obviously I don’t have the exact same experience as Jax so I guess in a way I might not feel fully represented by her character. But she is still trans, I still burst into tears when I saw her transness being confirmed on the giant fucking movie screen in front of me. I think when a character like this exists we should appreciate it and talk about it and portray her as trans and as trans fem. Because that is what she is and it is important that she is transfem and a trans woman specifically!! It is important to her character and it is important to the transfem people who are able to see themselves represented in this character.
I think it is really upsetting to act as if Jax isn’t trans, I think it is even more upsetting to act as if she’s a completely cis man. Yes, I do understand that this sort of reaction was going to happen because of transphobia. But I think I am even more disappointed to see trans people choosing to ignore/downplay/deny Jax being a trans woman.
ALSO. I am not going to say that everyone should stop interacting with whatever headcanons they like, but if you are going to talk about how you actually think Jax is transmasc or you think she’s a cis man. STOP POSTING ABOUT IT IN THE TRANSFEM JAX TAG!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DONT WANT TO SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!
