Delhi Under Siege | AAP stares eye to eye with A Recalcitrant Police Force
Arvind Kejriwal has pulled another rabbit out of his hat in taking on the political establishment and building his popularity among the electorate. While political pundits and critiques are questioning his confrontationist and anarchist approach; this unconventional politics has struck a cord with the people at large. The citizens of Delhi and the country at large, vexed with the large scale corruption and indifference shown by the powers that be, are fully in support of the Aam Admi Party. And the Central Government & Delhi Police are largely themselves to blame; having been absolutely insensitive to the woes of the Delhiites.
However a dangerous precedent is being set up in the country
On the eve of the Republic Day week, Arvind Kejriwal has gone on a Dharna and the location of his agitation, near the Home Ministry has become the flash point. Arvind Kejriwal has admitted that he is aware of the extra security preparations that take place in the capital during this time and the police have also stated their intent to maintain the law and order at whatever cost in the countdown to the Republic Day celebrations.
The timing of his dharna and his open declaration of being an anarchist has clearly set the cat out of the bag. He is here to stir trouble and the brewing pot has a capital T for trouble written entirely on it.
It is one thing that he is protesting for political gains and another thing to infuriate the people of Delhi. By raking up peoples passions and inciting them into enrolling them to further his selfish cause, we are now on the brink of a dangerous situation.
With both AAP and the Police reluctant to give up any ground and tempers on both sides at the maximum, the situation could at any given moment trigger and give rise to a clash between the two forces. And this agitation if allowed to sustain would set up a dangerous precedent throughout the entire country. Is AAP trying to start an Arab Spring event in India?
Alternative and decisive actions could easily have been explored
AAP could easily have taken the route of referendum which they keep professing and have used successfully in the past. During their election campaign I am sure they have developed a rich database of the Delhi populace, which they can easily use to put pressure on the Central government and the Delhi Police by building a consensus. Lessons could have also been learnt from the Anna Hazare Lok Pal movement (of which Kejriwal, as everyone knows, was a member). Even the Nirbhaya movement iwhich was much more peaceful had a more desired impact that shook the roots of Delhi.
Kejriwal chooses a path of confrontation instead
However Kejriwal (like all his previous half baked ideas) has chosen to sensationalize the issue by acting absolutely irresponsibly and without any thought to the consequences that could unfold. Kejriwal is risking a civil outrage which a rush of blood on either side could lead to the tense situation easily going out of hand.
Is There A Genuine Concern for the Aam Admi or Is it About Politics Or Is It About Something More Than Meets The Eye
It is no secret that the AAP after its landslide victory and emergence as the ruling party in Delhi has its ambitions flying high. And what could be a better vote plank than using an issue of a grieved Delhi citizen
to push their popularity on the national plank.
However if one were to do a political calculation and evaluate the consequences of such a move, any political pundit would have told you that that the success rate is at best 50:50. So why would Kejriwal stake the political future of his party on one event and that too on the eve of the Republic Day when it is known that security concerns would prevail over their alternative politics.
To my mind one should check the antecedents of the core party members. They all point to only one source and that is the Ford Foundation (foreign hand) which has got dangerous designs for the country. And AAP is their face of their agenda.
On the face of it, it looks as if it is a political stunt to capture the imagination of the Indian populace. However he is setting up a dangerous precedent which could lead to similar situations of national emergency arising across the nation.
Swift Decisive Action To Dismiss AAP Should Be Taken
The Governor should consider imposing an emergency in the state of Delhi or Congress should quickly withdraw support to this extremely dangerous government. While berating AAP why is the Congress Party supporting the government and this clearly bring to fore that AAP is the creation of the Congress dynasty.
It is a good thing that the Delhi Police have barricaded the AAP protestors and the media would do well to black out coverage of his protest. While people are questioning whether Aam Admi Party has gone to far I would like to ask the media if they have gone to far in making Arvind Kejriwal into an overnight hero; a dangerous creation which they will always repent. TRPs mean nothing when a nations security, internal or external, is at risk. It is time the media censured themselves and boycotted the AAP movement. The AAPtards dont deserve the publicity that they have got.
What do you, the reader, think should be the course of action that should be taken? Do you support AAP and Kejriwal? Do you approve of his methodical madness?
In another follow up blog post India At The Brink Of War Within And Without we will explore the dangers that our hostile neighbours and people and institutions like Aam Admi Party represent to the security of this great nation.
