Crash into me [Hotaru & Sayuri]
The night was silent, save for the rustling of leaves and the murmurs of the passing breeze. The moon hung in all it's glory at the apex of the sky, shining in it's pearl-like luminance.
It was the perfect night for a flight.
In a flash of harsh glow, gone was the humanoid form he took when he consorted with the humans, and in it's place, a majestic horned dragon left for the endless skies, silver scales sparkling, reflecting at the pale moonlight, teal mane drifting behind him as his serpentine body pierced through the air.
Yes, He was free. The dragon twisted and spiraled through the thick, fluffy clouds as he soared, pleased rumbles thundering from his sharp, gigantic maw, as though he was laughing.
Dancing in the sky, Hotaru glanced towards the ground, marveling at the beauty -- or whatever beauty was left of it. Massive trees formed thick canopies, the green covering almost all of what he could see, save the mountains and the lake. The lake itself was tranquil, peaceful as the water rippled with every breath the wind blew at it, so clean and clear that he could almost see through it's transparency.
Without as much as a second thought, the dragon dove downwards, headfirst into the lake, leaving a loud splash as he felt the coolness of the fluid caress against his smooth scales, the pressure of water stubbornly resisting the new addition. Despite being a fire-elemental dragon, Hotaru never had felt aversion to water bodies. In fact, he loved taking baths with such a passion that in his Home back in the village, a huge pond was built in his bathing quarters, large enough to accommodate his dragon body.
Finally feeling the burn in his lungs, Hotaru flicked his tail, propelling himself up towards the water's surface, his nostrils immediately sucking a lungful of cool, night air as soon as he hit the top.
Lids then raised, revealing amber hues that glowed in an otherworldly light. He had sensed another presence, one that sent alarms blaring in his head, his body tensed and ready for fight and flight. There was only one thing in the world that would give him this sense of loathing, this sense of fear. And when he whipped his head around only to see a pair of ruby orbs boring right back at him --
As the humans would say, 'Well, Fuck'.
