July 27, 2017 is Bugs Bunny’s 77th birthday.

Created by Leon Schlesinger Productions (later Warner Bros. Cartoons), Bugs made his debut in director Tex Avery’s Oscar-nominated animated film A Wild Hare, which was released on 27 July 1940. Voice actor Mel Blanc (1908--1989) provided Bugs’ voice from 1940 to 1989.

Here’s Mr. Bunny at 14 years old, enjoying a carrot sandwich and a carrot drink on the cover of Bugs Bunny’s Vacation Funnies, n°4, published by Dell in 1954. He hasn’t aged a bit. Must be the carrot diet.
