RIP Delmus January 2014 - February 7,2015
Delmus was such a good rat. He did not live a long life, but I think it was a very fulfilling one for him. He came to me in a time where I felt I had too many rats as it was. But Lisa knew I always loved BEW rats and she got him for me. I am so glad she did, as this little goof has really made my life fun. He was my boyfriend’s favorite was was always a sweetie.
However, poor Del suffered health issues from the time he was 8 months old. Over the last few months, he has become a shell of his former self. I only put his symptoms together last night as a Pituitary Tumor. I cannot believe I never thought of it as I watched Keiko slowly waste away of the same thing. His last few weeks finally make sense to me now.
However, Delmus never let his disease stop him from enjoying life. Up until his last day, he was eating every treat and food I have him. He was kind to every rat he came across and was a joy to be around. He was definitely not the brightest bulb in the pack, but he made up for it in pure love.
I hope every gets to one day have a Delmus in their life. I am certainly better off for knowing him, even though it was for a time that felt much to short for me. I can only hope I enriched his days as much as he did mine. I don’t know if I will ever have one quite like Del.
