I noticed that Battat's uninfected, but was shown with FRIEND (the first infected) how do they meet and what is thier dynamic? Why does FRIEND choose not to infect Battat?
okayyy explanation:
battat in deltarune is a weird guy, right? not just because he's a theorist, but because he has the freedom motif and a lot of connections to Gaster and Friend despite not being a secret boss.
battat in deltainfection is both very obsessed with finding out who mike is and finding out the source of the infection (and later obsessed with finding a cure (this comic takes place before pluey was infected)). Friend has taken a slight interest in Battat and Gaster just wants to see how far Battat would spiral (and compare it to Jevil and Spamton's descent). However, while most infected are ambush or pursuit predators, Friend uses aggressive mimicry. So Friend just lurks in the shadows and tries to trick Battat into coming close enough...
Thankfully Jongler and Pluey help keep him safe, as Battat will throw away his safety if it means getting evidence. Of course, Pluey getting infected... complicates things... but hey Pluey is doing fine! Sometimes he dissapears for hours and Battat finds him curled up in a ball in the darkness, but he's only almost killed/infected Battat and Jongler a few times!
