Dissonance || Sasuke and Itachi
the long awaited starter for @delusive-correlation
Evening has fallen on the day of the spring equinox. This is normally known as a day of celebration. Sunlight shines in as the population welcome the changing of seasons. Days grow longer, pollen is blooming, frosty air turns into humid showers.
Never has Sasuke borne the light everyone seemed to carry inside on this day. Instead, the boy holds his deepest sorrow. It is the day his little family was split apart.
A day to be remembered for the rest of his life, even though he was too young to recall most of its events. When looking back, the vivid memory of his parents departure is still as fresh as the morning it happened.
The salty wind picked up, the sun was high and beaming on the ocean's calm waves. Promises were made, kisses were received; Sasuke stood with his brother until they couldn’t see the ship over the stretched out horizon. The first instance of feeling alone.
Now, the wind was as salty as ever. Deciding on a school near a beach was partly reminiscent of his past. With that being said, his nightly walk has lead him to visit the shore in homage of that night. Out of respect for the family that was broken apart.
Quietly, the raven dragged his feet through the sand. The area was so vast- so barren. The sleeves from his hoodie were not enough to shield him from the chilly currents. It hardly mattered; Sasuke found a place to burrow himself close enough for the tide to rise and fall beneath his nose. With his chin pressed to his chest, he couldn't bear looking out to the stretched sea. Not yet. In time, he will find the strength to face his hardest loss.
