Patreon Update & Read Along News
There's a whole lot of updatin' goin' on.
SO! This will be attempt number 4921 for me to keep some kind of... blog? Journal? Update-thingum? We'll see how this goes. But with the world melting and social media pouring on the gasoline to that fire, I... Well. Shit. I have no idea why I'm here.
HI! I'm Dee. I'll be making a pinned post with all the relevant information at some point on here, but here and now, let's talk about Patreon & Read Alongs.
Back in the fandom day, I used to host online parties (back before we had decent apps to do so, I may add) and read my stories to groups of friends. Obviously, the parts people were most inclined to hear were the ones with all the adult themes. I was very happy to oblige.
Last weekend, I hosted a small, invite-only reboot of that on Discord. I read some not-yet-posted chapters of my fanfiction Let Freedom Bleed, and I recorded the chapters, too (I did this back in the old days, too). It went great (I think), and I also believe I could do it again.
So after having struggled through seven billion cycles of Patreon rewards, I think I've landed on tiers that might actually work for everybody AND give me sanity.
Or, well, okay - that last bit might be asking too much. It'll at least not detract from current levels of sanity, assuming some level of aforementioned sanity is, in fact, present.
Right - anyway, Patreon's been updated to include Discord Read Alongs. I'll be hosting those... eh... I'm aiming for every six weeks or so? Maybe more, maybe less - the holidays are coming, family is in crisis, so... There's a bit to plan around. But it'll happen on as frequent a basis as I can possibly manage.
Mostly I'm sharing to let anyone know and also just to say I'm excited about it all. I've missed a lot of the old crew, the old habits and fandom ways, and I just generally need more fun-for-fun's sake in my life.
Patreon link is here, for those interested. For those who aren't, we'll return to our regularly scheduled Queue of nature, men, sarcasm, and coping with chronic illness and neurodiversity momentarily.
All the baked goods of your choice,
<3Dee
