~ The chilly GOTHAM air whipped around concrete and steel. Blustering the feathers of the pigeons roosting in the crooks of the gargoyles sprouting from the edges of various buildings. There was something about being up here. Up above the STREETS. Something about the DISTANT sound of car horns and late night vendors still trying to offer up their produce to those of the masses still up at this hour. About the stubborn glow of lights signalling late nice offices workers. There was an odd peace to it. Something uniquely GOTHAM. Uniquely HOME.
Breeze toying fingers through his hair, Tim kept his gaze up toward the night sky, his cape fluttering as his legs d a n g l e d over the edge of the building he was perched on. Feet swinging ever so slightly. Hitting the heels of his BOOTS mutely against the concrete in a rhythmic beat. Domino mask turned to the blinking shine of stars pushing their way through Gotham haze. There was a metaphor somewhere in that he was sure.
The shift of air pressure is SUDDEN. A subtle crackling against the skin that, after his years alongside Bart, he had found always signalled the arrival of a SPEEDSTER. A weird muted static in the air making your hair follicles jitter.
It wasn't BART though. Tim could tell....tell in a way he couldn't exactly explain if he tried. Different...but entirely familiar.
' Mmm....I've never been able to get a good look at Canis Major....to much smog. You think I could see that in Kansas? '
Tim doesn't look over to Thad as he talks. Eyes remaining trained above. Bo-staff too kept strapped to his thigh - if the SPEEDSTER had been there fight, Tim would have no doubt found himself RAPIDLY eating air after being bodied off of the building before he could even brace for it.
' I've always liked it up here.....even as a kid.' Leaning back fractionally, he shifted to move his hands behind him, allowing himself a better position to more FULLY take in the sky. Cool air attacking the slither of exposed neck above his collar. White-out lenses watching the TWINKLING of far off lights above. Forcing their way passed deep hazy grey blotches . A sigh in Robin's voice.
' You can feel her heartbeat when you take the time to listen to her. GOTHAM I mean.'~
