This. Specifically this. I see a lot of people writing "polyamory" fanfiction lately, and there is a clear theme of over sexualization, and lack of emotional connection, of the poly community. We are not all into sex with everyone. Poly can still be a meaningful real committed and deeply emotional relationship with multiple people. Poly people can have traditional looking families with one or two or even more "mommys" and "daddys" raising children. You can be in a committed poly relationship with multiple people with different levels of sexual and emotional relations between each. Demisexual poly people exist. Demisexual thruples exist. You can be Ace and still be in poly relationships emotionally.
Poly does not just mean sex.
Here is a good article to read before writing about it.
When writing polyamory remember each character is different and unique. Your characters will likely not all have a concrete single idea of their polyamory. (Rule following and opinions being two different concepts.) For example a thruple could consist of two that are together both sexually and emotionally and the third may only be involved emotionally. Or vice versa, or two and two sexually but a thruple emotionally.
There are no limits.
